Justification

From the Hebrew tsadeq, meaning "to be causatively make right in a moral or legal sense." The Greek word dikaioo is defined similarly as, "to make or regard as innocent." In Christianity, a person is said to receive justification as the result of believing the Gospel which includes, but is not limited to, the finished work of Christ on the cross. Jesus, who was God in the flesh, lived a perfect life under the Law and was condemned to death on the cross. He suffered and died to satisfy the wrath of God for those who would believe, the just for the unjust. Therefore, salvation and justification aren't received based on our works, rather they are the free gift of God for those who believe.
